The Dock is a multi purpose arts centre in Carrick on Shannon, Co. Leitrim with an extensive performing and visual arts programme and a vibrant community workshop programme.
Housed in a beautifully renovated 19th Century courthouse building overlooking the river Shannon, The Dock houses an intimate theatre space with regular performances of music, theatre, comedy and more; three art galleries with monthly exhibitions showcasing the best of local, national and international work; artists' studios, workshop spaces, a coffee shop and theatre bar and The Leitrim Design House, a unique retail gallery with work from a wide array of local artists and designers.
The building was completely refurbished and re-opened as an arts centre, The Dock, in August 2005.

BLACK BOX PERFORMANCE SPACE
The performance space at The Dock presents regular performances of theatre, music, comedy and more. It is a flexible space with retractable seating and a maximum fixed seating capacity of 117. It is available for workshops, classes, conferences, launches or rehearsals.

GALLERIES
There are three contemporary galleries at The Dock, featuring painting, photography, prints, sculpture and installations.
Exhibitions to date have ranged from architecture to portraits, to landscapes and abstract work, featuring artists such as Nick Miller, Catherina Ahearne, Helen O'Leary, Mark Garry and Melanie O Rouke.

WORKSHOP SPACES There are two spaces for community education and activities, one for visual arts and one for music/theatre. These are used for art and music classes, rehearsal space and for meetings. Each space can seat a group of up to 20 people.
ARTISTS STUDIOS
The Dock has five studio spaces for artists.
TO RENT €30 per week (Light + Heat incl.)
The Dock in Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim has two studio spaces suitable for painters, film-makers, or other professional arts practitioners, available for immediate rent at €30 per week. Dimensions: 2.9m x 6m and 5.35 x 4m. All studio spaces have water and 13A power. Some have data points and broadband access is available at additional €5 per week.
Studios are available for period of six months to 12 months (with a possible 12-month extension at the discretion of The Dock).
There are also studios available above Solas Art Gallery in Ballinamore, Co Leitrim (these can also be applied for through The Dock)
If you would like to rent a studio, please submit the following:
1. A CV / Resume / Biog / history of your work to date.
2. A description of the work / project / programme you propose to work on while renting the studio.
3. A letter of interest indicating any additional benefits / potential of your period of residency for The Dock.
4. Preferred start dates.

THE BACK ROOM CAFÉ BAR
The Back Room Café is open from 10.30am Monday to Saturday, serving a selection of speciality teas, coffees and cakes. The theatre bar is open from 8pm on evenings of performances, with a full bar service.
THE LEITRIM DESIGN HOUSE -
The Leitrim Design House is a craft and design outlet which strives to represent a positive cultural image of Leitrim, synonymous with quality craft, visual art and design. Their retail gallery is located on the ground floor of The Dock.
