A poetry workshop for schools with Mary Branley

Where do you start a poem? Through Playful engagement Mary will guide the  class through the ups and downs, obstacles and slides, joy and dilemma’s of writing a poem. There are so many ways we can say something, and what better way to do this then straight from the heart?

The Dock would like to invite your school /class to join Mary on World Poetry day to explore your own way with words to see what we can say!

Mary is a writer, poet and musician based in Co. Sligo.

Her poetry is published in two collections with Summer Palace Press, Anthologies Windharp Penguin 2015, Journals at home and over seas .

She has worked with Kids Own since 2001 on at least 30 publications, including this year. The latest of which are: A Strong Heart, I Hope you Grow

(homeless children with Focus Ireland) Broadsheet with young Writers in Letterkenny and Strathfoyle, and latest project in Ballina with children exploring Traveller culture and as curated in the Museum of Country Life Castelbar, coming out in March 2019.
