We have a great night of Jazz for you to enjoy as part of The Dock Summer Sessions in Market Yard with The Ciaran Wilde Quartet. Ciaran will be joined by special guest Richard Nelson and some of Ireland’s top jazz musicians for a night of superb music.
Ciaran Wilde (Clarinet and Saxophone) began to play professionally at the age 15 and he studied Classical Clarinet and Saxophone in the Conservatory of Music Dublin.
He has been a freelance Musician and Educator ever since performing and recording with Acts like RTE Symphony Orchestra RTE Concert Orchestra RTE BigBand The Waterboys The Pogues Josh Ritter Dr Louis Stewart the list goes on ....
In 2006 he founded the Dublin City Jazz Orchestra featuring Irelands finest Jazz Musicians In 2016 he recieved ,first class honours in a Masters Degree from the DIT.
Currently teaching on The Ballymun music Programme continues to be in demand as a session musician in different areas of music Classical Jazz Rock.
Richard Nelson( Steel Guitar) If you turn on an Irish radio station and hear a pedal steel guitar, chances are that the man in the driving seat is Richard Nelson. The list of musicians he has performed with reads like a who’s who of top Irish musicians, from Van Morrison and Paul Brady to Daniel O’Donnell, and countless others. He has played on over 500 albums over the years. He is one of the most sought after session musicians on the Irish music scene.
He is the founder of the Irish Pedal steel guitar festival which has been running annually for 19 years, He has also performed at many leading jazz venues such as Montreaux jazz festival, North Sea jazz festival, Arthur’s Dublin and Portalen jazz club in Copenhagen. He is also a Graduate of the DIT masters in jazz performance programme.
There is no booking fee for this event.
Please note that this event will take place outdoors in the covered area of the Market Yard. Please bring some warm clothes. The performance can go ahead in the event of light rain.
Access to the performance is limited to ticket holders only. You will be allocated your seat on arrival by an usher. Tables will be distanced from each other as per government guidelines.
There will be access to the public toilets in the Market Yard which will be monitored and sanitised throughout the evening.
We would ask that you follow all guidelines to make the events as safe and enjoyable as possible for everyone.
