The Creative Youth Exchange is a platform to explore and participate in a wide range of art forms. Over the last three weeks young people to joined artists in the Dock as the Creative Youth Exchange, a new program for visual art, performance and music for young people, supported under Creative Ireland Open Call Programme through Leitrim County Council.
The platform explores a wide range of art forms and encourages to share ideas exchange skills and creativity through workshops with artist and musicians and mentoring sessions with performance and technical professionals.
Over the last few weeks the investigations varied from finding out more about video art and narratives alongside the exhibition ‘The L-Shape’. Wayne O’Connor explored the Art of storytelling and last Friday artist David Smith brought the group a new way of looking and seeing through the use of cameras and other means, exploring the visual realm in new ways again. The coming weeks we hope to delve into world of sound and building confidence around performance and technical aspects of stage and more ways of making image and objects.
The Creative Youth Exchange is open to anyone between the ages of 13 and 20 years and runs every Friday afternoon from 4:30 – 6 starting running until February 2019.
