In this photography workshop with artist Anna Leask we will discover forgotten processes of photography using both analogue and digital photography.
Inspired by the exhibition 'Threads,' Anna Leask will be showing you how to turn your digital photos into tactile cyanotypes. Cyanotype is a process that used to create the very first photography book in the 1800's, then going on to become blue prints for architects. This process has recently become popular again to create monochrome artwork, clothing and designs.
Anna Leask is a graduate from IT Sligo specialising in Digital Lens Based Media and displays her photography using different kinds of processing. Anna was awarded The Dock Graduate Residency Award in 2017. She has exhibited her photography work in group exhibitions since 2015. Anna works as a photographer documenting different events and arts festivals. Recently she has worked on the Collective Producers project with The Dock teaching photography, as well as teaching in national schools through County Sligo and Leitrim and has taught adult photography classes for the MSLETB and Sligo Leader.
