Patrick Hogan in conversation with Colin Graham
The Fieldpath (working title) is a new project which is currently in development by visual artist Patrick Hogan. The talk will address the importance of language and poetics, both visual and verbal, in the artist’s practice which spans film, new media and sound. The artist will preview new work and discuss his current collaboration with writer Colin Graham. The project draws on philosopher Martin Heidegger’s 1949 essay ‘Der Feldweg’ and deals with themes of technological convergence, time, language and our relationship to the ecological. The project has been awarded the Arts Council of Ireland New Project Award 2018 and is being developed in collaboration with writer Colin Graham. As part of the project, Patrick will deliver a talk with Colin at The Dock, Carrick-on-Shannon during his month long residency in October 2018.
