This is string band music both gutsy and sweet, driving and mellifluous. The Maude Belles draw their musical roots from old time American tradition, playing the Appalachian music that was born of Irish and Scottish traditional music, and was the predecessor of bluegrass music.
Hailing from Cork, Dublin and Sligo, the Belles formed in 2019 from like-minded musicians who played together in informal settings for several years.
Expect songs from the mountains, sweet vocal harmonies and stomping tunes that will make you smile at first; by the end you may well be dancing...
Louise Cronin – fiddle
Sheena Knepper – fiddle/bass
Fionnuala Kennedy – banjo
Camilla Monroe – guitar
