Running over 6 Saturdays
Saturday 16th September – Saturday 28th October
11.00am – 12.30pm / €60 for the 6 weeks
(No workshop on Saturday 30th September)
In his autumn series of writing workshops, poet and author Gerry Boland will explore the memoir genre. Taking tips, strategies, approaches and styles from a wide range of published memoirs, Gerry will help participants to decide what kind of memoir they would like to write. The workshops themselves will include: reading of extracts from several memoirs; analysis of approach and style; individual writing. It is hoped that each participant will have an opening chapter plus a basic outline of the entire book written by the end of the series.
Gerry Boland is a poet and author with eight published books. His first collection of short stories is due out later this year. He has wide experience of leading writing workshops in both poetry and short fiction. He is at present writing his own memoir.
