Mayo’s Jane O’ Sullivan’s has made extraordinary journey in her own creative directions. She graduated from Galway Mayo Institute with a Fine Art Degree and she has also studied Fashion and Theatre Design. She works with fibre, paint and embroidery and she makes drawings, artists books, short films and beloved objects. Her exhibition, entitled ‘A Passionate Silence, uses multifarious materials, such as textiles, found costumes, zines and books. Her work is poetic, delicate and beautiful and is concerned with locating a considered and careful space, a place of contemplation where she may create contexts for poignant reflection. It is multi layered which brings the viewer on a journey and unlocks the many meanings contained inside the various objects she will show.
O’ Sullivan is a well know figure is Galway where she has a stall at the Saturday Market which sells handmade artists books and clothes that she has re-made. This is her first solo show at The Dock.
