Donegal painter, Ann Quinn will present a selection of new paintings entitled 'Metamorphosis Created by Distance' - a journey of change that takes place both inwardly and in the outside world. It is a journey from the magical landscapes of Donegal where the artist spent her childhood. The journey proceeds through visions of Dublin, Kildare, Spain, India and other places in the world where she travelled. Through the amalgamation of these visions of different landscapes, her original vision of Donegal deepened and became enriched with an otherworldly aura. The paintings in this exhibition depict such metamorphosis that is growing towards an innermost place of the spirit.
Quinn’s work has been included in numerous group exhibitions and she has had nine solo shows at venues including the Irish Arts Centre, New York; Taylor Galleries and Cross Gallery, Dublin; Cavanacor Gallery, Donegal. Quinn's work is featured in public collections including the OPW / State Art Collection, HSE, AXA Insurance, University of Limerick, Donegal County Council, Four Seasons Hotel, as well as private collections in Ireland, Europe and the US.
