The website is not ship-shape yet, but the good news is that my competition idea is approved, and all it needs is a meeting with Paul to settle on the final form, the actual promoting, dates and times and of course the prize for the winning idea… so watch this space!
I can tell you already that it is about finding and creating an image for The Dock Blog, anything goes, there is lots of inspiration on the net if you search for images blog, but we want to create our very own and stick it right onto the header of the blog where its supposed to stick, just as the name The Dock sticks to this slate-grey building and all the activities that go on within its stony walls… I will take my own picture of my very own idea and hand it in as well, but I have a funny feeling there might be stronger images out there and it is YOU I am asking to get involved… so let me meet Paul and finalize all the details that need finalizing, and wait for my next post here… but you can start thinking about something cool and groovy as a design and image for the blog already indeed! Wouldn’t it be smashing if your idea becomes part of this website for good, your picture and work the header for the blog, something that remains besides the winning prize, which will need to be, ahem, finalized yet! But a bit thrilling unknown is supposed to be good for you, some anticipation to get the creative juices flowing! And I promise three times over, once the winning image goes up, all the current website kinks shall be smoothed out, so everything will come together beautifully!
That’s Dock Blogger news for today, but me being aware that is another Monday morning for you and me and you in the office I am sharing some Irish Times news with you too. There it says: if you are feeling under the weather today you are not alone, according to some dubious science. The third Monday in January has been dubbed Blue Monday, aka the saddest of the year, taking into account the weather, the post-Christmas-credit-card-debt and the fact that all your resolutions have already gone to pot. Fear not, The Irish Times says, http://www.bluemonday.org/ has some uplifting suggestions for coping with the day instead of hiding under the duvet. Well, since my New Years resolution is still on top of the game I don’t need the website just yet, but have a peep if you feel the Monday blues today… Otherwise check out this poster I found on Facebook, it definitely made me smile!
Have a great week; it is one of the big ones for The Dock with Frances Black playing on Friday night! And the lucky ticket holders – enjoy!
