The Dock conducted a survey recently to see which comedian Carrick on Shannon most wanted to see and, having added up the answers, most of you asked for Neil Delamere! So we are bringing him back with a brand new show, Bookmarks, that’s going to be bigger and better than ever – so big in fact we are going offsite to The Bush Hotel!

Seeing your photograph (along with those of 2 Ireland Rugby players, a national broadcaster and an elite athlete) on your university bookmark is food for thought. But this is what happened to our intrepid comedian, Neil Delamere. Best known as the star of RTE's The Panel and BBC's Blame Game, Irish comedian Neil Delamere debuts his new show Bookmarks.

Trinity College has Oscar Wilde, Dublin City University has Neil Delamere. Hmmm. It was a sign. Life is just a series of bookmarks - the events that highlight how far we've come and how far we've left to go. They could be anything, weddings, funerals, charges being dropped, even facing your fears (don't). Neil considers these markers as well as how his photo appeared on the thing in the first place. Time to explore.

Oh yeah, we also get to find out how long Neil will live.

"Delamere is a banter bomb, primed to make you explode with laughter" The Scotsman

“No TV camera could accurately measure the lightning speed of Delamere’s wit” Irish Times

We could all do with a good dose of that! So turn off your televisions and radios – they’re only making you sick – and come out for an evening of craic.

One of the most exciting live acts to emerge from Ireland in recent years, Dead Cat Bounce presents Wired, a brand new rock ‘n roll sketch show, stopping off at The Dock fresh from Electric Picnic.

Dead Cat Bounce’s unique blend of sketch comedy and musical performances has won them critical acclaim; playing to packed houses at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, London’s Big Joke Festival, Montreal’s Just for Laughs and this years Galway Arts Festival. They made their TV debut in January of this year, with their pilot airing as part of RTE 2’s ‘Project Ha Ha’.

Combining “tightly written” sketches with “barnstorming” musical performances played as a full rock band, Wired promises to be a relentless hour of comedy, unlike anything else you’ll see this year.

They will be joined by regular Leitrim Laughs funny man, MC John Colleary.

Leitrim Laughs Comedy Club is back after its Christmas break with, star of The Panel, Neil Delamare.

With a platinum-selling DVD, Neil Delamere, the Star of RTE’s The Panel and BBC’s The Blame Game is currently touring Ireland with his brand new show Crème Delamere and it will be coming to The Dock, Carrick on Shannon, for one night only, on Thursday 12th February.

Covering a day in Stockholm, the year’s show is an exploration of how a chance encounter can change your day as well as detailing the finer points of slagging off Ryanair’s CEO as he and 700 others look on. Practical advice on what not to do when swimming with sharks is also included. (Mocking the aforementioned multi-millionaire is considerably riskier as sharks tend to be more one dimensional in their attacks).

The main question remains, as in all good films, will Neil get the girl?

The unstoppable star of Irish comedy, Neil Delamere is one of the top headline acts on the international circuit. Having performed on five continents, he staged his debut solo show in the Edinburgh festival in 2004. The man made famous by Fr. Ted, O’Hanlon is a founding father of modern Irish stand-up since he helped form Dublin’s Comedy Cellar in 1990. Ardal has a slew of comedy awards (and a BAFTA) to his name. Thanks to Father Ted, My Hero and Big Bad World, O’Hanlon is immediately recognisable, but his incredible stand-up talent is perhaps less well known. A million miles from the naive persona of Father Dougal, O’Hanlon’s stand up is dark, sharp and excruciatingly funny.

Leitrim Laughs hosts ARDAL O'HANLON
Thursday 08th February
8.30 pm
18/15 euro

The man made famous by Fr. Ted, O'Hanlon is a founding father of modern Irish stand-up since he helped form Dublin's Comedy Cellar in 1990. Ardal has a slew of comedy awards (and a BAFTA) to his name. Thanks to Father Ted, My Hero and Big Bad World, O'Hanlon is immediately recognisable, but his incredible stand-up talent is perhaps less well known. "He is a complete joy to watch, planting the sort of silly images that bump around in your head forever." The Guardian A million miles from the naive persona of Father Dougal, O'Hanlon's stand up is dark, sharp and excruciatingly funny. Peppered with insightful observations into his off kilter world this is stand up comedy at its very best. "His comedy innocence and natural born acting ability is well worthy of the genius of James Stewart." The Independent
