Wednesday 24th February 8.30pm €15/€12One of the most instantly recognisable figures in traditional music, fiddle player, singer and front person of trad supergroup Altan, Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh performs an intimate gig to celebrate the release of Imeall, her first solo album. She will be joined by bouzouki/guitar player and composer Manus Lunny (Capercaille), who co produced her new album. Hailing from Gaoth Dobhair, Mairéad is internationally known as one of the leading exponents of Donegal fiddle music, taking her all over the world with Altan, headlining at venues such as The Hollywood Bowl, Sydney Opera House and The Royal Albert Hall. As well as her work with Altan, Mairéad has presented several traditional music programmes on radio and television, including the classic radio show, The Long Note and the television series, The Pure Drop and more recently The Full Set on RTÉ.
