National Drawing Day is an annual celebration of drawing and creativity, an initiative of the National Gallery of Ireland.
Join artist Louise Meehan on National Drawing Day for self-guided life drawing on Saturday 18 May, 12-2pm.
Express yourself through drawing — as a group activity or as an act of meditation. During this relaxed, drop-in session, participants will explore life drawing using a variety of media, and drawings will be based on the clothed human figure. Activate creativity by bringing a line for a walk, drawing what you see and, most importantly, having some fun.
Louise Meehan leads the self-guided Life Drawing group in the Breffni Community Centre, Carrick-on-Shannon, where the group explores different drawing techniques such capturing expressive movement poses through gestural drawing, blind drawing and more complex studies on proportion, shape/form, light and shading.
