"Fairy tales are more than true: Not because they tell us that dragons exist...but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten" -Neil Gaiman, Author
Artist Wayne O Connor will work with Scoil Mhuire, National School at The Dock to celebrate Poetry Day Ireland on Thursday 27th April.
The children will open their mind and imagination to tales of wonder and magic.
Artist and Storyteller Wayne O Connor is a Sligo based performer and workshop facilitator whose work is heavily inspired by Myth, Fantasy and Fairy-tales. On this Poetry Day Ireland, Wayne will weave a tale for the children, combining together words and visuals. Wayne delivers stories in highly energetic shows that combine a lot of humor and interaction around the telling of Myths from around the world.
The children and Wayne will create a story filled with magic, fairies, a terrible curse, romance, betrayal and of course an evil stepmother...all the essential ingredients of a good fairytale. But will this tale have a Happy ever after...?
