About the Artist(s)

Nicola MacEvilly trained as an actress at Rose Bruford in London and holds an MA in Theatre Studies from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. She has worked extensively in theatre in the UK and America but mostly here at home in Ireland. She is also a singer and has performed with the great Ennio Morricone and recorded with artists such as Indian, Kieran Quinn, Bedlam Suitcase, and Those Nervous Animals. She serves on the board of directors of the Hawks Well Theatre in her hometown of Sligo, representing the artists in the community.

The Dock is happy to announce that we will be continuing our partnership with Gap Day this year. Actress and singer, Nicola MavEvilly, will be joining us on January 6th.

Gap Day gives professional freelance theatre practitioners across the island of Ireland paid time to think, dream, and plan. This year they are supporting 45 artists across the island - you can see who here.

A Gap Day enables directors, devisors/makers, writers, designers, production managers and creative producers to take time out and dedicate a day to the creative research and thinking they haven't been able to do lately. How they spend the day is up to them: reading, writing, thinking, drawing, walking, and dreaming. Whatever they don’t usually have time to do; whatever they feel is needed.

Gap Day has been led by Lian Bell and Mermaid since 2015 and has supported over 150 artists to date.
