About the Artist(s)

Rayne Booth is an artist and freelance visual art professional. She studied Painting at the National College of Art and Design, graduating in 2004, and in 2006 completed a Masters in Arts Management and Cultural Policy from University College Dublin.

Throughout her career in Arts Management, she has worked to curate and produce ambitious projects including international exhibitions, artist-run spaces and feature-length artists films. She co-founded the artist-run space Monster Truck Gallery + Studios in 2006. She was Programme Curator at Temple Bar Gallery and Studios between 2011 and 2018 and founder/Director of Dublin Gallery Weekend 2015 - 2017. Current freelance roles include Producer of TULCA's 2020 programme 'UnSelfing', and project Co-Ordinator for Clancy Quay Professional Enterprise programme with the National College of Art and Design. She will also curate and produce a major country-wide tour of the work of Brazilian/Irish artistic duo Wagner / De Burca, upcoming in 2021. In January 2020 she curated an exhibition of their work at Galerias Municipais in Lisbon.

In 2018, Rayne moved to Lisbon to complete a Masters in Drawing at the Faculdade Belas Artes, Universidade de Lisboa. She is currently completing her thesis and final project. Her art is centred on the graphic novel format, writing and drawing long-form personal memoir narratives as well as working on other long-term daily drawing projects.

Rayne Booth has been invited to mediate The Dock's Winter Visual Arts Commissions Series across social media platforms and here on our website. Working with the individual artists she will share background on them and their respective practices and publish updates as well as they progress their work. This mediation process will allow the wider audience to experience the new work and connect them more closely with the artists.
