Dock Director Sarah Searson presents a short introduction to the work of the two artists represented in two solo shows that ran concurrently in The Dock. Marcel Vidal’s sculpture has been described as ‘assembled chaos’ in contrast to his restrained and tightly cropped paintings. The motif running through Alison’s Pilkingon’s many paintings and drawings is humourous, referencing artistic freedom and Pilkington’s creative journey.
