Middle Earth (The Lord of the Rings), Narnia (The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe), Hogwarts (Harry Potter), Arrakis (Dune), Azeroth (World of Warcraft), The Forgotten Realms (Dungeons and Dragons) Fictional worlds that have been the locations for some of the greatest adventures and stories of all time.
In this exciting project Artist and Storyteller Wayne O' Connor shall guide the participants through creating their own worlds of adventure and myth. Drawing inspiration from stories, books, games and films the workshops will have young people creating Fantasy world maps, creatures, crests and stories from their fictional setting. Mixing both art and creative writing, the created world will be showcased in a colorful World Book.
With a mix of Character design, Storytelling, Creative Writing, Environment and Game design, this online project will keep young minds active and entertained over 8 weeks.
The project consists of 8 x 30 min zoom sessions that you can participate in from the comfort of your own home. These Zoom based workshops will take place in January on Sat 9th, Sat 16th & Sat 30th, February on Sat 6th, Sat 20th, Sat 27th and in March on Sat 6th & Sat 20th
Wayne O'Connor is an artist, storyteller, writer and arts educator at The Dock. He works predominantly as a Digital artist in a variety of Digital software. His main interests are Myth, Folklore and the Fantasy genre and he has showcased this in his work on various books and games. He has worked extensively around Ireland and resides in Sligo.
