The Dock is delighted to host Dylan Mc Gloin for the Gap Day initiative. Dylan is an upcoming theatre practitioner, who will take this opportunity to develop further as an artist in his home county of Leitrim. Having graduated recently from ATU Sligo's Performing Arts course, Dylan has already worked in a variety of theatre companies and institutions. He is currently working within The Abbey Theatre in Dublin after winning the Yeats Bursary awarded to him in his final year, as well as becoming a full-time member of Know Promises Theatre Collective as Set Designer/Director. His goals moving forward in his career are to grow as an independent artist and to develop his unique form of theatre style, creating works as a Director/Designer.
What is a Gap Day?
Gap Day is an initiative founded at the Mermaid Arts Centre that gives professional freelance theatre practitioners across Ireland paid time to think, dream, and plan. Gap Days are available to directors, devisors/makers, writers, designers, production managers, and creative producers – essentially, anyone who has a prime creative role in the making of the work.
