Join us on Friday 21 February for the much-anticipated Leitrim Arts Awards with Creative Frame and Leitrim County Council Arts Office.

Awards

Throughout the year, a number of exciting arts projects led by Leitrim-based artists have emerged through various initiatives such as Leitrim County Council’s Individual Artists Bursary Programme, the Artists in Schools Programme, the Artists in the Community Programme, and the Creative Ireland Programme. Several of these will be celebrated during the evening, with the presentation of the prestigious Leitrim Arts Awards.

This year, Leitrim Arts Office is proud to celebrate the valuable contributions of the following artists: Tara Boath Mooney (Visual Artist), Helena Golden (Artisan Basket Maker), Fergal Brennan (Multimedia Artist and Animator), Paddy McEneaney (Actor), and Joel Smith (Playwright).

Performances

The Dock's Performance Space will be transformed into a vibrant cabaret setting, with an eclectic mix of performances by talented Leitrim artists. This year’s performances include Eimear Reidy, a cellist known for her diverse musical practice, ranging from historical performance to sound art, who will present a work-in-progress.

Actor Paddy McEneaney will present a rehearsed reading from Exit Does Theatre, followed by a performance by Étáin, a singer-songwriter whose ethereal vocal melodies and mystical guitar sounds reflect her deep connection to her roots while appealing to a universal audience.

Gerry Bohan
, a farmer and writer, will read a story from his acclaimed book The Clainings Tree, which won the 2024 MJ McManus Literary Award. His reading will centre around a tale linked to Samhain, titled Across the Kesh.

Mohammad Syfkhan,
a Kurdish/Syrian singer and bouzouki player, will share his vibrant blend of Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, and North African influences through his music, including tracks from his debut album I Am Kurdish.

Bookings

The event kicks off at 7pm with a welcome drinks reception, followed by a film screening, the awards presentation and delicious finger food provided by the Edergole Kitchen.

This promises to be a fantastic celebration of Leitrim’s artistic community and an opportunity to enjoy the work of these talented local artists. For those coming from the northern part of the county, a return bus from Manorhamilton is available. You can reserve a spot through the event link below.
