The Dock is seeking applications from Leitrim-local professional artists working in any art form for two fully subsidised studios over 12 months. In addition, we will offer a seed fund of €1000 to each successful applicant along with in-kind support customised to individual needs.

The studios are private working spaces and not open to the general public. They can be accessed Monday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm except on bank holidays. Each studio is equipped with desk, chair, electrical points, heating, natural and artificial lighting, sink and storage. Please read the application guidelines carefully.

Application guidelines:

Applications should be emailed to mary.conlon@leitrimcoco.ie with the subject heading “Artists’ Studios” in a single PDF document (max. 20MB) including:

Required

1. Cover letter outlining why you would like a studio at The Dock and how you would potentially use the seed fund (up to 500 words)

2. Artist’s biography (up to 250 words)

3. Work statement (up to 250 words)

4. Documentation of previous work (up to 3 examples)

Optional

1. Access rider (see Examples of Access Docs)

2. CV or résumé

3. Other information you think is important

The Dock promotes equality of opportunity regardless of age, civil or family status, disability, gender, membership of the Traveller community, race, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status. We would like to receive applications from artists who are representative of the diversity of Irish society.

Deadline

The deadline for submissions is Friday 30 January at 5pm. Late submissions will not be processed.

Notes

Applications must be in a single PDF containing all required information. PDFs should not exceed 20MB.

Feedback will not be provided on individual applications.

Joint applications will not be accepted in this round.

The studios are not wheelchair accessible. If you have accessibility queries or requirements, please contact us at thedockartscentre@gmail.com.

The successful applicant will be asked to follow the Safe to Create Code of Behaviour to ensure a safe workplace. You can find information, training and other resources for artists and arts workers here.
