Treasa Nealon is a playwright based in Manorhamilton and co-founder of The Rabbit's Riot Theatre Company. She is the Leitrim-based practitioner selected to participate in Six in the Virtual Attic, the Irish Theatre Institute’s year-long artist development programme, supported by The Dock and Leitrim Arts Office.
Six in the Attic supports a community of playwrights and theatremakers to engage, explore, develop, debate, and collaborate on their projects and practice, both in-person and online.
Since 2017, Treasa has assisted, co-run and organised creative workshops for community groups including Youth Theatre, DVAS and the National Learning Network. She has produced over 35 projects including the site-specific play The Last Night at Parkes Castle, Where We Are Now, the North-West of Ireland first LGBT+ Theatre Festival, and Winter Windows with the Coiníní Women’s Group. She is currently co-directing ATU Sligo’s Performing Arts graduate class in The Laramie Project and working on a cross border youth project as part of the Across the Lines project.
