Artist, Ellen Duffy, hosted a series of online workshops with sixth-class pupils from Scoil Mhuire that allowed them to examine some of the new work that she has on display at The Dock.
Working with the children online, Ellen used some of her installations and the gallery’s large windows to capture shadows made on the floors and walls. She introduced the children to the use of light sources, like lamps or natural light, and used some interesting materials to play with the casting of shadows. The children then built up textures and colours to create a series of works made from different viewpoints captured in a layer of collage.
