Throughout 2020 we have been lucky to work with artists across a range of art forms to develop work that has helped the connection between artists and audiences alive.

The Dock has always had a reputation for programming the very best in music and the series of music commissions that we have established for the latter part of 2020 will certainly maintain that high standard while celebrating the connections between musicians, place and people.

With the ideas of remembrance and celebration in mind, we approached three brilliant singers and asked them to compose and record new songs that we will be able to share with you here on our website and across our other online platforms. Our sincere hope is that in the not-too-distant future we will be able to invite you all back into our beautiful building to enjoy the music in person with us. Elenor Sharkey is one of the musicians we commissioned for this project.

Eleanor Shanley will be no stranger to you as a Leitrim native whose musical career has involved diving into many areas of the folk and traditional music genre. We were particularly pleased when she accepted our offer to develop new music and songs as part of our Music Commissions Series.
