We had a fun-packed day for our Family Day at The Dock.
We loved Sculptural Family Art Party with artist Andy Parsons, where families collaborated in constructing sculptural figures using simple yet imaginative sculptural techniques with everyday materials. The room was filled with all the different figures and disco lights came on to create a unique fun art installation! The workshop was energetic, great fun and an excellent introduction to contemporary sculptural practice and techniques for the family!
Family Art BUZZ with artist Lisa Cannon was a big buzz for all as we created a large-scale wall art installation to honour the industrious bee. Exploring various interactive art activities that highlight the queen, honey, pollination, and the bee's habitats by using a range of materials.
Songs and Lore of the Sea with Tom Lewis. As an ex-sailor dealing with the traditions and lore of The Age of Sail, he made the sea shanty songs come alive, demonstrating their transition to the present day and explaining their current relevance, with sailors’ stories, songs, and humour.
The programme was full of musical, historical and social significance engaging every attendee and capturing the imagination and interest of both children and their parents.
The marvellous Mythalio Clown Show entertained all with balloon-based fun, music, games, and more. Mythalio is originally from Ukraine and now living in Drumshanbo.
