About Marian's Commission
“I am currently developing work which openly explores my interests in humour, place, agricultural ephemera, and outsider art. Over the coming months, I plan to document statues and ornaments which ordain the gardens of both urban and rural homes. Alongside this, I will also explore the various graphic styles of agricultural ephemera. For The Dock, I propose to document this research by means of a visual diary and share both the ideas and artistic endeavours it prompts. By December, I plan to have produced a number of small sculptural objects and 2D works which may inhabit either a domestic or non-traditional gallery space. I propose to photograph these pieces and present them here on The Dock website.”
