Just in time for Christmas 2019, the Visual Arts & Education Officer at The Dock, Laura Mahon, ran a workshop for young people where the young inventors learned how to make their very own robotic artist! - a scribble bot.
STEAM workshops, like this one, inspire young people to create, invent and make with Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths (STEAM).
In this environmentally friendly workshop, the participants learned how to use recycled materials to create a unique fun drawing robot called a Scribble Bot. Using a multitude of different pens, crayons, markers, and containers and by adding or removing weights it was possible to see the fun patterns and designs the Scribble Bot could create.
At the end of the workshop, each participant had their very own Scribble Bot to take home.
