How much does social media know about us — and how much does it shape what we see, think, and feel?
Social Media & Me is a fun, collaborative three-day workshop combining animation and creative discussion to help students explore their experiences online.
Working with animator Fergal Brennan and data scientists from ADAPT Research Centre, TY students will investigate how platforms track personal data, how algorithms shape their feeds, and how social media can affect mood, self-image, and perspective.
The workshops create an open dialogue, giving participants practical knowledge and space to question, discuss, and reflect. They will then transform their ideas and experiences into an original animation.
Social Media & Me takes place at The Dock over three two-hour workshops on Tuesday 6, 13, and 20 April 2027, 10.30am—12.30pm. There are 12 places available to book. Teachers can contact Jonathan Harte, Communities Officer, at jonathan.harte@leitrimcoco.ie or call 071 965 0828 ext. 3.
