The Carrick Academy of Speech & Drama, led by Lorna Pia Greene, will be delivering weekly Speech & Drama classes for young people aged 7–16, teaching The Lir Academy Speech and Drama syllabus.
The Lir Academy is Ireland’s National Academy of Dramatic Art at Trinity College Dublin. Weekly classes will combine practical drama training with preparation for The Lir Academy Speech & Drama Examinations, offering students the opportunity to develop their performance, communication and creative skills.
Students will also have the option to complete graded examinations through The Lir Academy.
"The initiative aims to redefine how dramatic arts are taught to primary and secondary school-aged students across the county."
The Dock will serve as a regional venue for The Carrick Academy’s Speech & Drama programme, offering tuition based on The Lir Academy’s graded syllabus and access to graded examinations for students from Leitrim, Sligo and surrounding areas, including parts of Roscommon.
Enrolment is now open for a three-block programme beginning Thursday 5 November 2026. Students will progress through Blocks 1–3 until June 2027, with the opportunity to sit The Lir Academy graded Speech & Drama examinations at the conclusion of the programme. Participation in examinations is optional. Tuition is €165 per block.
