The Dock has joined Trans Europe Halles following the General Assembly at Aparaaditehas cultural centre in Tartu, Estonia. The Dock is the co-ordinating centre of the network's Cultural Transformation Movement.
Trans Europe Halles
Trans Europe Halles is one of the oldest and most dynamic cultural networks in Europe. They have been at the forefront of repurposing abandoned buildings for arts, culture and activism since 1983, and are made up of 165 members in over 40 countries.
Twice a year, the network meets to connect with other cultural change-makers, to start conversations, and to exchange knowledge. Together, members get to know the challenges facing different regions, and explore topics that matter to us all.
Network activities include creating connections and networking; training, learning and resource sharing; communication and promotion; emergency mobilisation and support; endorsement; advocacy and activism; interdisciplinary consultancy; international cooperation and fundraising.
Cultural Transformation Movement
Cultural Transformation Movement is an alliance of multidisciplinary art centres, production houses, and cultural organisations committed to cultural transformation and diversification of the arts and culture sector.
The urgency stems from a clear need to address growing inequalities within the societies we serve at large. We aim to work with communities that are underrepresented, marginalised, excluded, and do not have equal access to the resources to actualise their creative and professional potential.
