Founded in The Dock and regularly meeting for over ten years, Word Corner is a free monthly community event, open to anyone who likes to share or listen to poetry, stories, and songs. This is a sociable, relaxed and inclusive space.
If you’ve not made it before, rest assured that is for everyone — writers, readers, musicians, and listeners. There’s no actual mic, and you can comfortably sit where you’re sat. No stage, just people sharing poems, stories, and the occasional bit of music. If you’ve never read or performed to others before, that’s fine. A good few people have found their voice here, and if you prefer to just listen, you’re every bit as welcome!
