The Dock's youth arts group (aka the Collective Producers) is looking for new members!
Why join?
This is your opportunity to collaborate with artists and community groups as part of a unique programme of bespoke workshops, projects, events developed and created by you.
The youth arts group is for young people looking to create art, to meet new friends, to develop ideas, and to have your voice heard in a collective, safe space at The Dock. The group meets on Saturdays and during school holidays.
Who can join?
The youth arts group is open to people aged 13-17 years, in secondary-level education, or participating in non-traditional education. The Dock has fantastic visual arts and education programmes, and this group will give you the opportunity to work alongside professional artists.
When and how do you join?
The youth arts group is free to join, but places are limited. Please send an email telling us why you would like to join the group to lmahon@leitrimcoco.ie, Laura Mahon, Visual Arts & Education Manager at The Dock, by Friday 27 September.
Example of upcoming workshops
Echo Edge is an immersive sound, animation and mural project for teenagers in Leitrim. Led by animator Fergal Brennan, musician Eimear Reidy and artist Vanessa Power, the group will work together to create a fun and fantastic multimedia experience.
This innovative project will harness the creativity and voices of the local youth community through collaborative creation — it will include workshops in animation, programming, sound, mural painting, and curation to create an art installation that will be exhibited at The Dock.
