The Dock continues our involvement and support with the IFI Schools Programme which links supports films and moving image culture with post-primary curriculum. The programme supports film in school curricula and promotes film literacy for children and young people. A study guide for each
film is provided for school groups attending
One of the most lauded Irish language films in years, this touching feature follows nine-year old Cáit- who has been sent to spend the summer with distant relatives Eibhlín and Seán. Shy, withdrawn and sorely lacking in much needed affection, Cáit begins to blossom under the couple’s care, even coaxing aloof Seán away from the farm. As tragic family secrets emerge and the summer creeps to an end, difficult realities must be faced for this new found family. Featuring a stunning debut performance from young Catherine Clinch.
