Family Fun in the galleries

[ May 29, 2009 ]

Preparation is under way for our family fun day this Saturday the 30th of May at 2pm. Sarah Stevens, tutor for the day, was busying herself about the exhibition this morning dreaming up wonderful ways for families to play and create together in gallery 2. Gallery 2 is a great space to hang about in, lots of light, tall ceilings and of course at the moment Denis Farrell’s paintings powerfully holding court with the room. Next Saturday will be our second Family Fun Day, as Arty Party keeps reminding us …a better name is coming…. ideas most welcome. It is great to offer families a space within the community to come and chill out together and most importantly have some fun together. It is really important to The Dock that the family fun day is seen as our way of highlighting how important it is that families are provided with public spaces to relax in and be a family in. Life can sometimes end up being lived in a whirl with the most important things, like time together; being forgotten… so come on in this Saturday bring the Granddads and the Aunties and enjoy being a family.
