Creative Frame will host a workshop on writing creative proposals and funding applications, plus one-on-one mentoring sessions with Annette Moloney, on Tuesday 23 June, 10.30am to 1pm.
Creative Proposals
This free, practical workshop and one-on-one clinics are suitable for practitioners from all artforms, so if you are a visual artist, musician, writer, architect, theatre producer, designer, maker, or dancer, and you have an upcoming project or funding deadline, or intend to make one in the future, the day will be a great opportunity to build your capacity in this area and also to meet with other members of Creative Frame. This workshop may be of particular interest to Leitrim-based and Creative Frame artists planning to apply to Leitrim Arts Office for a forthcoming funding opportunity, such as an Individual Artist Bursary or an Artist Collective Bursary.
The half-day workshop will include a presentation and conversation on best practice in writing proposals and funding applications, including a chance to review recent artists' proposals. The workshop will aim to cover hints and tips in developing proposals; a discussion on some ‘watch-out-fors’ and common pitfalls; observations on assessment processes and selection panels as well as selection criteria; advice on sample headings to communicate ideas clearly and creatively; suggestions for supporting documentation, CVs and bios; as well as advice on time management and the dangers of procrastination.
Mentoring Sessions
Six one-to-one mentoring sessions are available in the afternoon to pre-book, where material can be submitted beforehand to be discussed and reviewed. This is a unique opportunity to get expert insight and advice on an application or proposal you may be planning or one you have ready. Information should be submitted for review a week in advance of the session. To book a one-to-one mentoring session, please email Leslie Ryan, Assistant Arts Office, at lryan@leitrimcoco.ie.
