This Sunday sees platinum selling, Meteor prize-winning and ridiculously talented, Cathy Davey take to the stage in the intimate surrounds of The Dock Black Box space. This is ahead of the release of her new album, The Nameless, on 7th May. If her last two albums, Something Ilk and Tales of Silversleeve, are anything to go by this is definitly one we will be adding to our CD collection. The album features guests such as Neil Hannon and long time collaborator and Villagers front man Conor O'Brien. This is part of The Bare Bones Tour which is explained by Cathy below.THE BARE BONES TOUR!! What is this magical thing of which I speak? It's a chance to play intimate venues without being too noisy for sensitive ears. Re arranged songs to better suit candlelight. Three of us playing as many instruments as we can fit in our suitcases and the chance for me to babble nonsense if I so choose as the bigger venues tend to echo unpleasantly, and I do so hate the sound of my own voice.. don't we all. That's the Bare Bones Tour. It's nice. And slightly special. Also the first single from The nameless, Little Red, is available to download on Friday. You can get a sneak preview of it at The Torture Garden, a quality music blog which I really recommend checking out. Also joining Cathy on stage will be the excellent our little secrets aka Rhob Cunningham who can be seen below at the Airfield Sessions.
