Are you interested in applying for the Platform Commissions at EVA International 2025?
On Saturday 16 March, EVA Director Matt Packer will give a guided tour of the Platform Commissions exhibition at The Dock at 2pm, followed by a workshop for professional visual artists at 3pm.
This free workshop will give a general overview of the Platform Commissions initiative, which seeks proposals from artists based in Ireland to produce new works as part of the upcoming EVA biennial programme.
Matt will present a number of case studies of previous Platform Commissions, talking through the various development stages of particular projects from idea to realisation. The workshop will also focus on the submission process for Platform Commissions for the 41st EVA International taking place in Autumn 2025.

Matt Packer is Director of EVA International – Ireland’s Biennial of Contemporary Art, where he has been in post since 2017. Previous roles include Director, CCA Centre For Contemporary Art Derry ~ Londonderry (2014–2017); Associate Director, Treignac Projet (2013-2016), Curator of Exhibitions & Projects, Glucksman, Cork (2007–2013).
In an independent capacity, he curated numerous exhibitions and projects including They Call Us The Screamers, TULCA Festival of Visual Arts, Galway (2017); and Disappearing Acts, Lofoten International Art Festival, Norway (2015) (with Arne Skaug Olsen). He was one of the international mentors on the What Could / Should Curating Do programme in Belgrade (2018, 2019), and has also written for numerous magazines, journals including Frieze, Kaleidoscope, and Concreta.
