The Dockers Collective is an open creative community bringing together artists from across the visual arts, music, writing, and other creative fields. Meeting monthly in the Jury Room café, the group gathers for coffee, conversation, and shared inspiration. These informal sessions create a welcoming space for ideas to grow, collaborations of form, and creativity to flourish.
"I always like being in the company of other creatives. I feel braver when I experiment with different techniques. The workshops were a great joy. You could feel the creative energy humming through the room."
In October of this year, artists from the Dockers Collective and the Slow Stitchers came together for a series of collaborative workshops at The Dock. Facilitated by artists Catherine Gray and Barbara Browne, the workshops were designed to inspire creative engagement and to encourage participants to contribute to the second Dockers Collective exhibition in the Jury Room café.
Meeting twice monthly, participants explored a wide range of expressive techniques working with gelli plate printing, collage, and layered mixed media processes. These sessions created a space for experimentation and play, offering a welcome shift from the pace of daily life into a shared environment of creativity.
The contributing artists are Kevin Walker, Josie Williams, James Busher, Maggie Hollins, Maria Mollohan, Connie Duffy, Barbara Browne, Lluvia Ramirez, Miriam Doran, Maria Monaghan, Rosy Nickels, Catherine Gray, Eileen Keane, Kaisa Religa, and Dimph Gleeson.
