PUNK FRIDAY storms back into The Dock this April with a third installment of noise and catharsis, once again curated by Lina Lambert. Psych‑rock collective Bad Mothers Union bring their DIY punk ethos and high‑volume blowouts, while Mark + Luke add hyperactive, scrappy anthems from the Irish underground circuit. Sligo unit priest rounds out the bill with a raw, unpredictable edge, for a night of high‑energy live performance.
The bands will take to the stage from 7pm. A quiet space will be available for visitors and a food truck will be available to purchase food.
Bad Mothers Union unleash torrents of euphoric psych-rock in a whirling dervish of unbridled self-expression. Established in Kilkenny by frontman Conor Kavanagh, during Bad Mothers Union’s existence they have focused on forging a community of like-minded individuals, bands and artist. Eschewing the standard approach to membership, the band act as a musical collective, thriving on collaboration and what each player’s voice brings to their sonic tapestry. The current line-up is Conor Kavanagh (vocals/guitar), Céin O’Dowd (guitar), Shay English (bass), Ethan Corcoran (bass/vocals) and James O’Neill (drums/percussion).
Mark + Luke is 3 piece math rock/noise band. They play math rock music fairly often. They are good some would say. Their biggest influences are My Chemical Romance and Deerhoof.
priest are a 5 piece punk and post punk band from Sligo. We’re really influenced by bands such as The Fall, Sonic Youth, and Shame. We really pride ourselves on our high energy live performances. We’re really looking forward to showing ye what we got!
