Open Call for Local Stories

The Dock is seeking contributions from local residents of all ages to capture and share the history of The Dock, a landmark building since the 1820s, and Leitrim’s flagship arts centre. We are gathering stories and memories to create an inclusive narrative that reflects the evolving role of the former courthouse in Carrick on Shannon.

We welcome stories, photos, documents and drawings in digital format so we can ensure this building’s history continues to be a source of pride and inspiration for generations to come. This open call is an opportunity to leave a lasting mark on a project that will bring history to life through community events and creative projects, safeguarding our shared heritage. The History of The Dock is kindly supported by Leitrim County Council Arts Office and Creative Ireland and led by Jonathan Harte as part of the Young Curators Programme.
